Every year, we celebrate our Independence Day to remember how the Filipino people fought for our own freedom to have our own Filipino identity. And yet, it seems like we, the present generation, is still lost is finding our own identity as citizens of the Philippines. There are many ideas, questions, opinions, and suggestions that arise to knowing the true Filipino identity but it takes a lot of courage to seek and find the answers to all the unknowns.
Let me start first by sharing my first step with 'change'. After graduation, I felt really bummed. Aside from being pressured to start a career and loosing money for attending interviews and a little bit of going out, what really made me sad is that fact that I felt worthless. Until the unexpected invitation came, to volunteer for the Freedom Ride by Dakila.

I am definitely stoked by this thing; the people, the event itself, the music, and the purpose. I got there at the venue as early as 4 am. VERY RARE to be on time, so not me. (lol) But it's kind of fun to commute before sunrise because of the cool breeze of dawn. Huehuehue ~~~~ Anyway!! Touch down Eastwood, gave away free shirts for the first 500 participants after the registration process. Gaaaahhh Choz lang. I loved the riders, hindi sila pasaway, medyo lang. =)) =))
Here's the video of Noel Cabangon's performance. Credits to the owner of the video! =) "Kaya Mong Maging Isang Dakila!"

I regret that I didn't take photos (or videos) of the other bands featured at the Freedom Concert! Everyone played great! I promised to myself that I should watch them all play again in other gigs. (Babawi ako!) But for now, I could say that Up Dharma Down did it again to bring in more people at the center. Some went crazy, literally screaming beside me! Gaaaaaah
Here's when I was introduced to Lourd by Mark. HAHHA Shet fangirling, sorry!!!! :|
I can't find my photo with Jun Sabayton but I'll just post this one with Pim. Lol "Yakapin mo ako, kunwari mahal mo ako." Awww HAHAHA
The perks of being part of this is love! Choz. After their set, everybody tried to get in the backstage but of course it was fenced. But still fans found their way to take photos with Armi. (Kahit nakaharang sa gitna yung fence, kere na!) So eto na ang perks! Lol Walang harang shempre. Huehuehuehue~~
The End! Choz! Shempre pack up pa yan then usap usap with the committee. The experience was unbelievable. I can't believe I've been part of this.
Dakila came into my life unexpectedly but with the right timing, where I felt my life is going nowhere and feeling hopeless. Of course, it took me some time to have courage make things in my own way, without thinking people's judgement. I thank everyone I worked with here, it's a new thing. I know I'm not just here because of the perks, but to know myself, to know what I am trying to find, to express myself through whatever way I want it to (like art or music), and to start the change.
I just feel so blessed right now and to whatever happens, I'll never regret for this change.
